Getting the Royal(ty) Treatment
For freelance musicians and composers, performance and commission fees are a core part of making a living. But what happens after the performance or recording? Is it possible to earn from the work you have made?
Daniel Lewis (Classical Relationship Manager, PRS for Music) explains how musicians can earn royalties from their work. He shares how royalties work for musical compositions and recordings and introduces the key music industry organisations that can help you get paid when your work is played.

The Ideas Fund offers grants between £1,000 - £2,000 to enable you to develop your own creative ideas. This talk explored how these three recipients used their funding to complete or develop a piece of work in various creative styles.

Ryan Gleave and Calum Perrin in conversation
In this session Lloyd Coleman is in conversation with Rylan Gleave & Calum Perrin as they discuss their work on Paraorchestra’s The Anatomy of the Orchestra. Rylan discusses his composition Straylight, which was part of the repertoire for Anatomy Drone Refractions & Calum discusses the process behind his sound work ‘Anatomies’ created in response to the Steve Reich version of The Anatomy of the Orchestra.

Tech+Play is a series of six online sessions exploring playing with and composing for assistive instruments. Each session features two or three artists: some members of Paraorchestra, others creative technologists – discussing their experience with assistive tech and how they use it in their practice.

This includes what access support is available when writing applications, what personal access costs (for you and your collaborators) you can include in funding applications, and what access costs for audiences coming to your work you might consider within your funding applications.
