About Kraftwerk Re:werk
Paraorchestra presents Kraftwerk Re:werk with Charles Hazlewood at Forwards Festival 2026 in Bristol
A vivid orchestral remix of the pioneering group’s iconic Trans-Europe Express; Kraftwerk Re:werk turns the orchestra into a giant synthesizer. This is not simply Kraftwerk with added orchestral parts: sounds are crushed, filtered and distorted for a prolific and exhilarating music experience.
Composers Charlotte Harding and Lloyd Coleman take key elements from this seminal album as starting points for a virtuoso orchestral fantasy. Via an expanded palette of Moog synthesisers, drum machines, and an electro harp alongside live percussion, bass oboes, orchestral strings, and brass Kraftwerk Re:werk takes you on ferocious and intoxicating musical odyssey.
Premiered at Bristol’s Simple Things festival in 2017, this maximalist orchestral-electronic hybrid conducted by Charles Hazlewood has since played festivals, nightclubs and concert halls across the UK. It was featured on Sky Arts’ Reinventing the Orchestra in 2022 and now lands in Bristol for Forwards Festival 2026.
