About The Anatomy of the Orchestra: The Four Sections
Experience the orchestra from the inside out. The Anatomy of the Orchestra: The Four Sections lands in New York at the Lincoln Center - Saturday 13 June 2026.
Part-installation, part-concert; The Anatomy of the Orchestra is a unique opportunity to climb inside and get up close to the orchestra as they perform Steve Reich’s iconic The Four Sections.
Featured as part of The Big Umbrella Festival 2026, Lincoln Center's large-scale performing arts festival designed specifically with neurodivergent audiences at its centre, The Anatomy of the Orchestra is presented in our trademark immersive style. Led by conductor Charles Hazlewood, this is a mesmerising, 360-degree feast for the eyes and ears; an extraordinary sonic adventure.
With a staggering 51 musicians spread out across an open space, you are invited to walk, wheel or sit amongst each of the four sections of the orchestra and explore its inner workings as they perform this rare work for symphony in perfect collective sound.
Follow your senses and experience the virtuoso playing of Paraorchestra in breathtaking detail.
Glorious. A position no ordinary punter would be lucky enough to be in. I closed my eyes and listened, really listened... It was pure joy.
