Chaired by our Senior Producer for Artist Development Helen Edwards, the discussion will focus on the ways disabled musicians are hacking instruments to augment their creative practice and how Paraorchestra is using assistive tech to explore new sonic possibilities in our performances.

Helen will be joined by Drake Music CEO Sally Currie, Assistant Music Director of Paraorchestra Siobhan Clough, and Paraorchestra composer and musician Liza Bec who will explain their award-winning creation, the Roborecorder.

Each of the speakers will bring their own unique perspective on assistive music tech to the panel, which was conceived as a follow-up to the Sony Assistive Musical Instrument Hackathon hosted in Bristol in Autumn 2024.

The conference takes place in Budapest from 8- 11 April 2026, with four days of projects, showcases, and talks, by and for the international classical community.
