About Kraftwerk Re:werk
Kraftwerk Re:werk is a vivid maximalist remix of the pioneering electronic group’s iconic album Trans Europe Express.
Commissioned by Simple Things Festival where it premiered in 2017, this is not simply Kraftwerk with added orchestral parts – Paraorchestra members and composers Lloyd Coleman and Charlotte Harding draw on an arsenal of symphonic and electronic instrumentation and diverse influences to create a ferocious hybrid, turning the orchestra into a giant synthesizer in which sounds are crushed, filtered and distorted into something entirely new and exhilarating.
Kraftwerk Re:werk has won plaudits from audiences and critics alike for the way it celebrates the brilliance of Kraftwerk's original whilst simultaneously embodying the same future-facing spirit that courses through Trans Europe Express.

"The arrangements are bold: the melody from Trans-Europe Express rings out of a dizzy whirl of sound, while Autobahn’s smooth pootle is chaotically recast as Mad Max’s morning commute."
Ben Beaumont-Thomas, The Guardian
