About Paraorchestra and The Breath present Symbiosis
A dynamic collaboration between Paraorchestra and The Breath. Experience a rich and soulful tapestry of music where folkloric lyricism and genre-defying orchestral compositions combine in a rich world of sound.
Better known as The Breath, award-winning duo Ríoghnach Connolly and Stuart McCallum's sound is rooted in folk, but it traverses much wider musical horizons. In Symbiosis, theircompositions for voice, guitar, flute, and shruti are supercharged and lifted by ‘responding composer’ Oliver Vibrans, who has orchestrated parts for an array of rare and unusual instrumentation for Paraorchestra.
Conducted by Charles Hazlewood, this piece invites audiences to observe the 20-piece ensemble as an ecosystem of musical forces, transforming and expanding The Breath’s songs into new landscapes that are lush, unpredictable, and emotionally resonant.
